Our cat Fluffy (long hair tabby) and her friend Bluebell love having cat fights. But since these cats started to live in our backyard many things started to change. The birds who visit now need to be aware of the cats and sure we have had plenty of dead birds over the last 18 months. My gut feeling is the cats have created a vacuum of spider predators (lizards, frogs, skinks and geckos) are now missing. This has allowed the deadly Redback spider to become a major feature late 2016 and 2017. Cats can cause huge damage to the natural environment. I do feel they have been a major force of change. Anyway it was nice to see the Magpie family and remember the most amazing Magpie baby who was named by a YouTuber Pepper. This very special Magpie was wired differently and very easy to pick up and handle. A lovely freak of nature.
