Thomas The Tank has a new risky rails scrapyard escape train set that's based off the Thomas & Friends film Journey Beyond Sodor. Thomas has to do a daring escape in a nightmare scrapyard, he crosses a dangerous cable bridge, nearly gets crushed by a giant gear and tries to avoid a machine thats set to steal his cargo. In the good old days this would have been just another special special delivery but these days we need thrills and stunts to keep Thomas alive. This Thomas Trackmaster playset comes with a Jungle Theme grubby Thomas that has a cheery custom face. He looks like he's having fun, not escaping a dangerous scrapyard. This playset needs some resetting while playing, the good news is Thomas can still make it around without a full reset as long as he stays travelling in one direction. This Thomas toy is colourful and exciting to look at, has lots of play action and will have your children investigating how many trains and rolling stock they can manage on this very risky railway. The real Thomas excitement builds up when you add more wagons and characters. Percy and Devious Diesel join the battle on the scrapyard and the real joy of playing starts to evolve. But who is ever going to see an invisible jungle Thomas who shows us that sometimes the best parts to a Thomas toy is the plastic bubble packaging that protects Thomas before he comes out to play. The other Trackmaster playset featured is Thomas Trackmaster Fiery Rescue Set. It's a different style of train set that came with a cool steam Rescue theme Thomas. I'm hoping my toy reviews lets you decide which playset suits your style of play. I suggest you buy them both. Mr Mattel will love me for saying that!

My advice it to shop on Amazon to buy playsets like this, I have found it very difficult to find Thomas Trackmaster playsets.

Thomas Trackmaster has had a curious history, it's worth a little read!

In 2007, HIT Entertainment's subsidiary HIT Toy Company picked up the license to produce the Thomas Motor Road and Rail range. The TrackMaster engines were compatible with Tomy's Motor Road and Rail merchandise. TrackMaster's light brown coloured track was easily connected to the previous blue track from TOMY by track adapters, which were included in every set until new releases after 2008. An innovation in this range was special editions of certain engines, including remote-controlled and face changing variations. In 2010, the rights were put under the ownership of Fisher Price. In 2014, the range was redesigned and heavily simplified. Engines are faster and run on new grey track system that has many different track components. The engines can climb up steeper inclines but the new Trackmaster 2 is only semi compatible with Classic Trackmaster trains.
