Xavier James Butler was admitted to hospital October 2017 after over a year of trips back and forth to the doctors, where his mother was told that he was just a fussy eater, a viral infection, constipation, and many other false diagnoses. His condition went undiagnosed until doctors finally found the cause of the problem. Xavier has Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare cancer, which was found in the muscle of the prostate gland. The tumor has spread from the front of his colon to his bladder, kidney and lungs. Xavier is not yet three years old, and has already been through so much just to get his diagnosis and start treatment.

The charity LATCH is a children's cancer charity which supports children, parents and families who are living with cancer, and have supported Xavier family whilst he has been in hospital. It is uncertain how long Xavier will be in hospital, but he will be there for at least the next few months. LATCH costs 700,000 pounds a year to run, and is run solely on the donations of generous individuals.

If you'd like to donate to help families and children like Xavier, then every penny counts. As a motivator, Xavier's mother Beth Maguire and aunt Jessica Jones will be shaving their hair off once the minimum target of 500 pounds has been reached. If you know them personally, you'll know that they both love dying their hair various bright and unusual colours, and so losing all their hair is a tough choice to make! However many children who go through treatment for cancer don't get the choice, and so they are hoping that this fundraiser will show solidarity and support for those living with hair loss from treatment.
