Hail Damage Roof Tiles Sneaky Cracks Appear Weeks After Storm & Wasp Nest Blitzum ─ leokimvideo

A huge catastrophic hail storm in Sydney's north in late 2018 caused massive amounts of damage to homes and motor vehicles. My insurance company sent out an assessor to look at my roof and he seemed more interested in dents in the metal roof Vs old roof tiles that have had severe hail impacts and damage. I was told all metal will be replaced but only obvious broken terracotta tiles will be replaced. My patch up after the storm incorporated roughly 50 broken tiles, but as the weeks roll by after the storm we are getting more and more leaks into our home. On investigating the leaks I can see very small cracks developing at hail impact areas. I feel the insurance company assessor is not understanding the ticking time bomb of hail impacted old terracotta and cement roof tiles thats presenting more and more cracks weeks after the storms hit.

Where I live there is much chatter about roof tiles and how many insurance companies are doing only patch repairs to tiles. If I had an all metal roof it would be totally replaced because the hail impacts to metal affects the protective coating and can form areas where water can lay. But being a cement or terracotta roof tile after this storm is like being invisible in conversations related to repairs. It's becoming rather spooky how all this is being handled.

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has declared the storm a catastrophe, with 25,000 claims already made and losses of more than $125 million.Three-quarters of the claims made so far have been for damage to motor vehicles, including smashed windscreens, after parts of Sydney were pummelled by hail up to 8 centimetres wide.
ICA spokesman Campbell Fuller said the full financial impact of the storms would be significant.

"It won't be known for some days, or even several weeks," he said.
"It's a week before Christmas and the insurance industry wants to alleviate the stress being experienced by households and businesses hit by the storm.
"I encourage anyone who has suffered property damage to lodge a claim online with their insurer or contact their insurer's call centre as soon as possible."
