With MEGA bushfires all around it's time to look for Treasure that's thrown out as Trash. This is the Summer curbside cleanup and as usual there is lots to be found. Maybe the weirdest trend in this rubbish study is the many golf club sets I found. I have no idea if it's worth thousands of dollars or nothing. It's always nice to find Little Tikes toys and large Nerf guns. But the really nasty surprise was lurking under a very old Thomas The Tank ride on. It had an established Redback Spider nest with spider egg sacs. There is always the typical stuff like office chairs, BBQ's, microwave ovens, cheap vacuums, patio heaters, steamers, vacuum blowers. The very common link to all this is what I call Made In China syndrome. We seem to be addicted to cheap imported goods that have a fairly short lifespan. These rubbish piles are pure evidence of this massive problem. For me it paints a picture of society and gives warnings to where we are headed. The future is not looking very good at all if the Made In China syndrome continues. Because our suburb no longer has a Charity Shop it inhibits the useful recycling of goods. The dynamic of the rubbish piles has really changed since the Charity Shop has closed.
