This composting toilet is awesome. How to make an Eco Composting Toilet, under $200 DIY. It is a form of Primitive Technology. No, there is no odour. I actually find traditional porcelain toilets hold more odour. As you can see it was quite easy to put together, it’s also a self-contained unit so it doesn’t require you to hook up any pipes, these loos are immediately ready to use. We made ours for less than $200. You can even just use a big bucket and a lid if you want to go less-fancy. There is no septic system required so no one has to come and empty it periodically. There is no water needed to operate the system which is perfect for drought-prone locations. I think one of the most important benefits is you are making free compost to feed your fruit trees and garden.
