Summer storms can be very powerful and dangerous. This cyclonic rain and hail storm was very scary bringing destructive winds and flooding. It lasted for 20 mins bringing down trees, flooding homes and causing more roof damage after the mega hail storm that hit Sydney in late 2018. The Summer of 2018 / 2019 was marked by a number of very intense storm systems, luckily these days with weather radar and instant messaging warnings are delivered as these storms develop. But sometimes the storms appear out of nowhere and rapidly intensify in strength as they move. There is one thing you don't do during a storm and that's shelter under a tree. Trees can shed branches, be struck by lightning and just fall over. This storm delivered a huge amount of rain and I investigate if Redback drain spider can survive this massive storm event.
