Time for a Redback spider roundup and this is the last for the 2019 / 2020 spider season. I do find new spider activity and as always it's the very distinctive spider web that redback spiders weave which gives away their spider nests. The spider lures are pretty clean and Bindi the pet Redback is very happy and getting ready for Winter. In this video I do look back at some really important moments, especially when the Redback spiders were found around the Tonka Trucks and toys in the backyard. That discovery triggered a long and close study of the Australian Redback spider which is sadly a deadly suburban pest. It's ability to take advantage of our structured lives is remarkable. This adaptation seems to have these spiders gain an advantage over their natural predators. Anyway every time I look at how these spiders set up a new spider nest I learn something. Lets hope you do as well.
Video posted as educational, documentary, and scientific and forms part of my Insect / spider study series of videos.
